The test provides rapid and highly sensitive results that play an important role in:

Freelite quantitatively measures serum kappa and lambda free light chains (FLCs) and can be used in initial testing, monitoring and prognosis of patients with suspected monoclonal gammopathies.

Performing Freelite and serum electrophoresis analysis provides an efficient initial diagnostic screen, and means that urine electrophoresis can be ordered more selectively.
